Great atmosphere at the opening of the new docking bridge for the bicycle ferry in Brunsnæs

Friends and partners of the Danish-German bicycle ferry met in Brunsnæs on 18 May in summery temperatures. Together they celebrated the inauguration of the newly renovated landing stage and new bathing steps. Gerhard Jacobsen, chairman of the Friends of the Bicycle Ferry, thanked all the sponsors and craftsmen for their active support. The more than 50 participants were delighted with a small raffle and enjoyed the cosy barbecue evening at the ferry landing stage with a cool drink.

Bicycle ferry now uses the new jetty in Brunsnæs

This year's Danish-German bicycle ferry season started on 18 May with the first departure of the "Thjalfe" bicycle ferry in the direction of Langballigau. The flood and storm damage from last autumn made it necessary to completely renovate the landing bridge in Brunsnæs. Passengers with or without bicycles can now use the pier again. A bathing staircase has been installed at the head of the jetty for bathers.
